The amazing home design has floor to ceiling windows that provide an abundance of natural light to the open living/dining/kitchen area. Behind the living area is the dining room with a sculptural pendant lamp, and beyond the dining room area in the kitchen.

Architectural Design of the Blue Lake Retreat

The Blue Lake Retreat is located in Marble, Texas and makes good use of the building site's steep rising topography, with this vertically structured architectural design being the perfect design for this lake house. The home is a long, and narrow three-story home that dramatically culminates at the top floor, situated just above the tree line and providing an almost a180-degree view of the lake beyond. The third-floor of the house is a north-facing glazed wall that offers unobstructed views of the lake, while the smaller openings in the south-facing wall of the home design give glimpses of the rugged beauty of the hillside.

Integration with Surrounding Landscape

The home makes good use of everything about its building site from the site's juxtaposed landforms to include water and the rugged hillside, the third floor has a cantilevered deck that reaches toward the water, with a bridge on the opposite side of the home design which anchors the home into the hillside behind, connecting the house to the surrounding landscape. The architectural design has four separate bedroom retreats which are tucked below on the two lower floors.

Durable Materials and Outdoor Spaces

The building materials that were selected in this home design were chosen primarily for their durability and were deliberately placed in response to the sun and wind exposure at each elevation and orientation on the building site. The lakeside home has four separate bedroom retreats that are tucked below on the lower floors. All of the circulation space of the home was shifted outdoors, which allows for even further immersion in nature. The architectural design has a two-story boathouse and a swim deck that mimics the home's design, echoing its connection to the land by utilizing a similar bridge to help unite the building site's varied and unique landforms.

Interior Design and Comfort

Each window in the beautiful design home acts as a sort of picture frame to the natural views outside, and none of the home's decor competes with the surrounding view. Inside the home, you'll find plenty of white walls, natural rugs, wood, wooden and white furniture, and concrete to combine seamlessly with the beautiful views. The wall of windows on the top floor offers up endless views of the lakeside location and view, which makes this lakeside home have an overall feeling of comfort and calm.
