Privacy policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains what information HyggeHous (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit hyggehous.com and how it is used.

Information we collect

You can read our articles without an account. If you create an account, we use your email address and the profile information supplied by your chosen sign-in provider to identify your account and provide account access. Email passwords are handled by our authentication service. We store sign-in tokens in your browser to keep you signed in; you can sign out from your account page. Like most websites, our servers and service providers automatically receive standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device, referring page and the pages you view.

Cookies and advertising

Design tools and purchases: When you use our room remodeler, your uploaded photo and design instructions are sent to our image-processing service to create the result. Avoid including private documents or other sensitive details in room photos. We keep your generated designs and job history so you can return to them, and retain credit and purchase records to operate your account. You can request deletion through our contact page. Card and PayPal details are handled by Stripe or PayPal; we receive payment status and purchase identifiers, not your full card number. We also keep a one-way hash of your normalized email address to prevent repeated welcome-credit claims.

We use Google AdSense to show advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are shown a consent message (a Google-certified consent management platform) before personalised ads or analytics cookies are used.

Analytics

Product concept research: Coming-soon concept promotions help us learn which ideas interest readers. A first-party random browser cookie lasts up to 90 days and lets us count each browser once per concept. We store a hash of that identifier, visible ad impressions, clicks, page paths, referrer sources and interaction times. Clearing cookies or changing browsers may count as another visitor. If you choose to join a concept's waitlist, we store your email, consent and confirmation status separately and send a confirmation email. We use that address for updates about the concept you requested, not automatic enrollment in our general newsletter. Your confirmation email includes a link to withdraw and remove your email from that waitlist; anonymous research counts may remain. Contact us through our contact page for other deletion requests.

For our own room-remodeler banner and Fire Sale product promotions, we count visible impressions and clicks using random identifiers that last for one page load. For products, we also record which product and ad position were selected. We store the page path and interaction times, without attaching your email or account ID or using a tracking cookie. These counts help us understand which promotions readers find useful. Product links open the Fire Sale store, where its own privacy and checkout terms apply.

We use Google Analytics to understand which stories readers enjoy. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data in aggregate. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Meta (Facebook) pixel and email

We use the Meta pixel to measure visits that arrive from our Facebook and Instagram posts and ads, and Omnisend to run our optional email newsletter. These tools may set cookies and receive information about the pages you view. You can control ad personalisation in your Facebook ad preferences, and every newsletter email contains an unsubscribe link.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA) you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to opt out of its sale or sharing. Contact us at our contact page to make a request.
