The Benefits of Wood Construction

There are other benefits to using wood building materials in your wood cabin design. Wood building materials need the least amount of energy to make them and have the lowest impact on both the air and water quality. Wood is a natural building material, so it doesn't have any of the toxic by-products that are often associated with other types of building materials when being manufactured. Wood is the only major building material that is renewable. It is believed that approximately one-third of the energy in North America is used to help heat, cool and to operate buildings. A log cabin building can help to reduce this as wood also moderates humidity, wood is an excellent natural insulator, which helps to reduce the need for air conditioning and ventilation.
