Research and Personalization

Lilah and Ollie spent a lot of time researching and traveling around New Zealand, staying in as many different tiny houses as possible to get ideas for their dream tiny home. They drew out sketches, chalked out designs on their driveway, and even went online to create 3D models of their home to make sure that they got the design right. The result is a wonderful, modern, and spacious tiny house that is filled with unique features such as a bump-out in the roof to create additional standing room in the sleeping loft, a brilliant open plan kitchen/living room with an island, and even a bathtub is hidden under the deck.

Flexibility of Tiny Living

Tiny houses on wheels probably offer the most flexibility, allowing you to change scenery when you please and pull your tiny house along with you. There are several benefits to living in a tiny house on wheels, but the biggest advantage is probably the ability to travel with your tiny house. If you have a truck or an SUV, you can tow your tiny house on wheels around the country sightseeing, living in different places for extended amounts of time, and visiting family. If your job requires you to move, you can take your tiny house along with you. Imagine how nice it would be to wake up in your own bed with all of your belongings after a long day of traveling. A tiny house on wheels means no expensive hotels, no having to set up a campsite, relaxing in your tiny house after a day of travel, and crawling into your bed. Another benefit is that there are many tiny house communities around the country where you can park your tiny house on wheels and stay.

Building vs. Buying

You can purchase a tiny house on wheels with everything included, or you might choose to build a tiny house on wheels yourself. Prebuilt tiny houses on wheels come with everything you need to live and stay comfortably. You'll find tiny houses with kitchens and open living spaces, upper lofts for sleeping and storage, bathrooms with showers and tubs, along with washers and dryers. Depending on your tiny budget there are plenty of upgrades you can add to your tiny house on wheels, so you get exactly the tiny house design you need. But if you are the do-it-yourself type, then you can build your tiny house on wheels and save yourself some money. You have to start with the proper trailer, and it's important to choose the right type of foundation for your tiny house on wheels.
