Discover the Boulder Tiny House, an innovative design by Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses, blending rustic charm with modern functionality for the tiny living enthusiast.

Greg Parham's Journey into Tiny House Living
For Greg Parham of Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses, tiny houses started out as a fascination. Then lead to a passion which then lead to his business building tiny houses for other people. He started out in 2011 when he moved into his own tiny house on wheels after downsizing. Then, he decided to start up his own tiny house building business creating tiny houses for others who were interested in small house living. He does an amazing job building and crafting each tiny house to be different than the next, adding recycled and reclaimed materials as much as possible for a rustic modern look. The company has built many tiny houses since 2013 when they really got their business going, and the Boulder tiny house you see here was one of the first tiny houses they ever built. This is the first model that got their business started. The design is simple and very efficient to build with a shed roof on a 16 foot long 8-foot wide trailer. Inside, it's also pretty spacious too, plus it can be pulled with a regular half ton truck. It was also the first design that they included their storage stairs into which are a huge space saver and organizer for these tiny houses on wheels.
Evolving Design Inspired by Boulder, Colorado
Since they launched this tiny house design in 2013, it has changed numerous times to suit different customers needs. The name of the tiny house design is in honour of Boulder, Colorado which is close to where Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses is located in Durango, Colorado. Boulder is one of the coolest most progressive cities in the Rockies. There are open-minded, free-spirited people as well as awesome modern architecture among the traditional mountain rustic designs. This tiny house design was created for those who want a rustic and contemporary style of tiny house that is easy to tow. It's also very easy to build, so for those buying the designs to build the tiny house themselves, this would be a great option. There are options for a 7 foot, 6 foot or 8-foot wide footprint on a 16-foot long trailer. The maximum height for a tiny house is 13.4 feet. The trailer will have two axles with electric brakes rated for 5,200 pounds each. The Boulder tiny house design is also designed to be completely on-grid with 20v AC plug-in, water hose connection, and drain pipe, but off-grid options are also available for an additional cost. Also included are two 30 pound propane tanks and an on-demand water heater. There is PEX plumbing throughout, and all fittings are lead-free for health and safety.
High-Quality Materials and Practical Features
The floor, the walls, and the ceiling include 3.5 inches of EPS foam and SIPs are also available. The exterior siding is made from reclaimed wood, corrugated metal and cedar shakes. The windows are vinyl windows from Jeld Wen. The interior finishes include 1/4 inch plywood painted white on the walls and then clear coated plywood on the ceiling. They also incorporate some barn wood and cedar accents too. One of the cool features of this home is the tread stairs that also offer storage and office space. There's also a small kitchen area with a built-in burner and overhead range, as well as a mini fridge and sink. The cute little dining area features a wood slab with stools looking out of the window. There's also the option for a fold up porch off the main entrance. These models start at $35,000 and can be customized to meet customers needs and style preferences. The sizes available for this model include a 16-foot option as well as an 18 foot and 20-foot option.
