From the yurt, it is a 10-minute hike to the Shenandoah National Park or you can explore the 58 acres on several walking trails. While on your holiday you can visit Charlottesville, historical sites, explore caves, or rivers in central Virginia.

Scenic Location at Cair Paravel Farmstead

The yurt is located in Stanardsville, Virginia at the Cair Paravel Farmstead. The farm is located 2000 feet up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, a mile and a half up a narrow steep gravel road. The yurt is situated on the mountainside above the barn where you can see and listen to the farm animals. It is a lovely farm experience to spend time close to the barn and the surrounding forest. Cair Paravel Farm is a small working farmstead and you will hear both the domestic and wild creatures that are residents up on the mountain. If you would rather not hear all the sounds of the farm you can bring noise-canceling earphones or earplugs.

The yurt vacation rental has a queen bed, loft with queen bed and two single futons. The yurt has musical instruments, toys, a gas burning stove with fire view, HD television and DVD, magazine table with games. The yurt vacation rental has a kitchen and dining area with a gas range, full-sized fridge with freezer, coffee maker with free-trade coffee and filters, toaster, cooking tools and utensils, dishwasher, and more. The yurt has all the comforts of home with a mini-split HVAC, gas wood stove, 2 pure deep wells for water, a gas grill, a fire pit, and a shared pool. The pool is a seasonal saltwater in-ground pool. Cair Paravel is a sustainable farm practicing permaculture and they apply biodynamic practices to their gardening and animal husbandry.
