The Caban Tal y Fan is a cozy cabin building in the beautiful Conwy Valley at the foot of the magnificent Snowdonia mountains.

Surrounding Wildlife and Attractions

The tiny cabin building is surrounded by wildlife such as red kites, wild otters, hawks and owls all of which you may see during your vacation stay. The cabin retreat is just a 5-minute drive from the medieval castle of Conwy and just 10 minutes from the seaside resort of Llandudno, along with the inland surf lagoon at Surf Snowdonia and Bodnant Welsh Food Centre and The National Trust gardens at Bodnant.

Comfort and Amenities

The unique larch clad cabin buildings are highly insulated to keep you cool in the summer and warm and cozy in the fall and winter months. The cozy cabin retreat has a small galley kitchen with an electric hob, sink, toaster, electric kettle, and fridge which lets you cook up a traditional breakfast, a light lunch or an evening meal. The cabin building is also close to local pubs and restaurants when you feel like eating out. On summer days you can sit out and cook your meals over the fire pit or barbecue. Guests to the cozy cabin are welcome to take a walk along the River Henryd which marks the western boundary of the cabin site or venture further into the wilder parts of the field along the cut paths. There are several secret places where you can sit and watch the clouds float across the mountains or listen to the resident birds.

Rewilding and Careful Exploration

The field where the Cabins are located is being allowed to rewild. The surrounding area around the cabins has cut paths, but the ground is naturally uneven so great care should be taken when traveling around the field. Each cabin building has its compost toilet housed in a Ty Bach or Little house that is right next to each cabin building. Inside each cabin the building is a comfy bed where you will be sure to have some of the best sleeps.

Exploring North Wales

The Shepherds hut is ideally located to explore the natural beauty of the mountains and the coast of North Wales. The medieval town and castle of Conwy is just a 5 minutes' drive away as is the surf lagoon at Surf Snowdonia, the Welsh Food Centre at Bodnant and the Conwy Water Center. The award-winning Groes Inn is just 700 meters down the road and the traditional Welsh pub, the Ty Gwyn Hotel is only 1 kilometer in the other direction. Getting around is easy as there is free on-site car parking and the cabin building is only about 700 meters from the nearest bus stop which connects to the Conwy railway station which is only about 5 to 10 minutes away.
