Planning Your Log Cabin Build

A log cabin building like the Hollows doesn't come without a whole lot of planning, usually with the help of an architectural design team, and log house builders. If your log cabin budget allows, you'll want to go with a log house building company that shares your vision, so your log cabin matches what you've always wanted. A good log house team will walk you through every step of the process and help make the whole experience that much easier. You'll want to think about things such as the size of the log cabin you need, the floor plan, and the location.

Understanding Space Requirements

Many people often overestimate just how much space they need. It is also a good idea to take a look at and do a bit of research at several log cabin building books so that you can better educate yourself on the log cabin building techniques and style of log houses. You'd be surprised at just how much log cabins can vary, so you'll want to start a board or journal with some of your ideas.

The Importance of a Detailed Floor Plan

You want to have a detailed log cabin floor plan as it will save you a lot of time when it comes time to hire log house builders and tradespeople. And if a luxury log cabin plan isn't within your budget, you can go with a simple log cabin that will suit your needs. You can even find free log cabin plans that will save you money. A simple rectangular log cabin is a basic floor plan that will save you time and money, and provide just as good a place to spend time with family and friends. If the log cabin floor plan you are using lacks detail, then the tradespeople will most likely quote you on the higher side. Doing your research and talking to different people is the best way to ensure there will be no surprises when all is said and done.
