Grandfield Log Home Plan Was Modified to Create the Dream Log Cabin

Overview of the Grandfield Log Home

Honest Abe Log Homes creates some of the most beautiful log cabins on the market today, and The Grandfield log home plan is one of them. This is a log home that features many wonderful additions including the stone fireplace, plenty of windows to allow in natural light and a wrap around deck that's also covered. Just think of all the great BBQs and dinners you could have out on that deck in the summertime. Owners of this home could also make good use of the covered deck space by adding a hot tub somewhere on the deck to enjoy year round. This floor plan features 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms making it perfect for a larger family. The floor plan is spread out over 2 floors with 2,600 square feet of living space which is more than enough for the entire family to feel comfortable in. From the outside, the log home looks beautiful and stately sitting on top of a hill. The round logs and the stone fireplace create an all natural appeal that people love. Inside, the home is just as stunning as the outside, with the living room on the main floor as well as the kitchen, dining room, an office space and the master bedroom all on the main floor too. The master bedroom also has its own ensuite bathroom and a walk-in closet too, so there will be more than enough room for two people's clothes. The living room features soaring ceilings that really open up the space, and you can also see the loft from below as well.

Upper Level Features and Versatility

Upstairs there are two more bedrooms, as well as a full sized bathroom, plus the loft space that opens up to the great room below. The loft space would be perfect to use as a multipurpose room or a games room, or even for another living room or a TV room to watch movies and play video games. This particular home was designed with a walkout basement giving the owners even more space to play with so they could add even more bedrooms and other multi-use spaces. You'll also notice the fine craftsmanship done by the log builders Honest Abe Log Homes. They created round log walls on the exterior with tongue and groove panelling on the interior for a smooth look. It's nice to go with the smooth walls on the inside of the home so that artwork can be hung and furniture can be placed easily. All of the finishing touches like the railings, stairs and bannisters were crafted by the talented craftspeople at Honest Abe Log Homes too, adding so much to the home. Honest Abe Log Homes is a family owned and operated log home builder with over 35 years in the log building business.

The Family Legacy of Honest Abe Log Homes

Plus, all of the owners of the company have all lived in a log home from Honest Abe Log Homes which says a lot about how passionate they are about their product. The founder of Honest Abe was Doug Smith who lived and built log homes with his wife, Janie Smith including the first Honest Abe home which was built in the late 1970s. They also raised their two kids Shane and April in that home and Janie took care of the finances in the business. Even though Doug has since passed on, Janie continues to live in and enjoy the log home she and her husband built together and raised their children in. April and Shane and their own families all live in log homes just like their parents as well, so they have a strong connection to log home living and take pride in their family business.
