Rich in history, this 100-year-old cabin, is named after Glenna Florence who donated the 600 acres of what is now the Florence preserve. The newly renovated cabin in the woods has 2 bedrooms with a loft, a fully stocked kitchen, and one bathroom, and is just 20 minutes to Asheville.

The cozy space has 2 bedrooms, an upstairs loft, and one bathroom. There is a new deck and hot tub, which is situated right above a creek so you can hear the water running while sitting under the stars. There is an outside fire pit with benches, outside lighting along the path and the stairs, and two picnic tables outside for dining. The beds are new with high thread count cotton sheets. You don't have to leave the property to access the trail system of the Florence preserve. The cabin offers plenty of privacy with indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxing and enjoying your time while in the mountains. Dog friendly with an additional pet fee.
The entire log cabin and outdoor space are for you to enjoy including the deck, hot tub, and fire pit with benches.
It has been mentioned that hot water can fluctuate in the shower from time to time. There is a loft with a ladder with a day bed. It has a vaulted ceiling, and most adults can not stand up straight in the loft, it is cozy and comfortable up there. There will be coffee and filters provided for you during your vacation stay. If you feel chilly in the bedrooms, there are small heaters in each room, but you can also open the door for the air can circulate in and out of the room. The path outside has lights for at night to be able to see outside. There are trails outside the back of the log cabin to get directly onto the Florence preserve. Just walk out the door and around the back and you’re on a trail alongside a creek.

The vacation property is on the Florence preserve, one of the only two structures that are part of the original preserve (the original owners donated the 600 acres to the preserve). The Florence preserve is a 600-acre conservation area with lush forest, waterfalls, overlooks, and 5-plus miles of hiking. In the small town of Gerton, North Carolina there are other trailheads including Bearwallow mountain, Trombatore Trail, Wild Cat rock, and more. Very close are Chimney Rock State Park, Lake Lure, and Rumbling Bald State Park. There is also mountain biking, fly fishing, kayaking, and rafting which is close as well.
