The distance from the Kona International Airport is 12 minutes by car without traffic.

This is a beautiful scenic drive to some epic botanical gardens. Breathtaking views and photo ops.
Two Step.
Bring your snorkel gear and go early in the morning. The Place of Refuge is a historical site right next door! Worth a walkthrough to get some history of the island.

Just a 2-minute drive up the road are some beautiful trails to explore.
Kolekole Beach Park.
This is a great pit stop for a picnic on your way to the Hilo side. There is an epic waterfall just across the stream and a beautiful historic bridge for more photo opportunities.
Waimea Homestead Farmer's Market.
This is a great Saturday experience to get some locally grown veggies, honey, and more. There are also food trucks to enjoy lunch.
