An Eco Friendly Floating Cabin With Two Levels
Discover the Punta de Mar Marina Lodge, an eco-friendly floating cabin designed for luxury, relaxation, and sustainable tourism on the water.

Innovative Modular Design for Sustainable Tourism
The Valencia-based architectural firm Mano De Santo proposed a plug-and-play hotel room that could easily be transported and installed thanks to its modular, off-grid design. The floating cabin dubbed the Punta de Mar Marina Lodge, is a conceptual floating pavilion that is part of a sustainable tourism initiative that targets low environmental impact. The floating cabin building is powered with solar energy and would offer a private and luxurious hotel experience on the water for two. The idea was unveiled last year, and the Lodge is envisioned to house two levels spanning a total of 800 square feet in size. The ground floor of the floating Lodge is approximately 430 square feet and includes a small front patio that opens to the bedroom, which overlooks the water through its full-height glazing. The bathroom, storage and technical equipment are tucked in a unit area behind the bed, while a small outdoor patio is located in the rear. Guests can also enjoy access to the roof, where there is an open-air lounge with seating.
Luxurious Features and Collaborative Design
The floating cabin building is made from natural low-impact building materials, has 360-degree views when it is floating on the sea and is meant for two people who are some wanting privacy. The collaborative team for this floating prototype had a luxurious marine stay in mind and is currently installed in the Real Club Náutico de Denia, Spain. The designers have created the prototype by strategically aligning the floating cabin building with brands to include Simon, Wurth, Technal, Gira and Guardian Glass.
A Unique Eco-Friendly Accommodation Experience
This 800 square foot floating lodge accommodation has two floors, with one of the floors measuring 430 square feet to include a luxury suite complete with a bathroom and a private terrace with pieces of furniture from the Weave collection by POINT. The 365 square foot second floor of the floating cabin is specifically designed for relaxation and comfort. Both of the floors have smartphone-controlled lighting, air conditioning, sound, aromas, and more. The floating lodge is a sustainable tourism initiative that doesn't generate any waste because it is an installation of Plug and Go modules. Also, the floating lodge can be transported by land and towed by sea, which offers the freedom of relocating the floating hotel room to different places, this is thanks to the technology and its eco-friendly, minimalist design, it is a unique accommodation concept.
Emphasizing Coexistence and Well-Being
The motive for this unique eco friendly floating lodge accommodation is to approach the sea, respect it and take care of it. The floating cabin building considers coexistence to be the key element that favors disconnection, relaxation, and well-being. The Punta de Mar floating cabin building is designed for anyone who wants to enjoy the experience of living and staying in the sea from a new perspective. For anyone who is looking for a unique experience of integration with the environment, where relaxation, comfort, disconnection, and well-being predominate. The Punta de Mar has a simple aesthetic with clean lines, and natural wood throughout so it is not competing with the scenic ocean view.
