Innovative Home Design Solutions

Homebuilding has come a long way over the years, and for people who want something a bit different, there are some incredible design ideas out there to gain inspiration from. For people who want a unique, healthy and energy efficient home, thinking outside of the box is essential. That's where home builder Mandala Custom Homes from Nelson, British Columbia comes in with their stunning home designs and sustainable building solutions. They guarantee that their homes will be more comfortable than conventional homes, and they are also more energy efficient. They actually built British Columbia's first Energy Star certified home in 2011, so they are ahead of the curve in many ways. The company offers design and building services that will have a home building package ready to be shipped to your property and built right on site. Once the home is up and ready to live in, the owners of Mandala homes will also notice lower energy costs and also that they feel better living in these healthy homes. Not only does Mandala Custom Homes keep sustainability and efficiency in mind when designing and building their homes, but their homes are also suited for extreme weather and environmental disasters. Engineers have ensured that these homes can endure high force winds, earthquakes and heavy snows. They also have a fire-resistant siding and insulation which will keep their homes safe from fires as well.

Efficient and Eco-Friendly Construction

All of their homes are pre-built in their production facility which makes production time much faster than building on site. It also reduces waste too which is good for the environment. The home you see here is one of their beautiful finished products, a home perched on a hillside overlooking the gorgeous rolling hills and valleys. All of their homes feature round designs and floor plans which creates such an organic and natural shape and flow for a home. The word Mandala actually means circle in Sanskrit, and in many spiritual practices, mandalas are used as an art form to meditate and relax the mind. So it's natural that people will feel more relaxed and at ease in a Mandala Custom Home. The home has a lower level and an upper level with entrance into the top part of the home and a great deck on the back of the home overlooking the valley below. Entering into the home, there is a mezzanine level, and then a set of stairs leads down into the main living area which features the kitchen, living room and dining area. Plus, check out all of those great windows that open the home up to views of the surrounding landscape. They used massive timbers for support toward the centre of the home which also adds to the appeal of the home as well. The kitchen is large with plenty of cabinets and countertops as well as the fridge, stove and dishwasher.

Spacious and Inviting Living Areas

The kitchen also has some bar seating which is always great for breakfasts or lounging with friends. In the living room, the soaring ceilings make the home feel so spacious and open. The dining area is situated near to the kitchen and contains a rounded table that can seat four or more people. Beyond the dining area is the living room with comfortable furniture and a fireplace in the corner to warm the space up efficiently. This would be the perfect place to sit and read a book or enjoy time with friends and family. The bedroom is also a very lovely space that looks very cozy and comfortable, and there's one bathroom in this home as well. The owners of Mandala Custom Homes Lars Chose and Rachel Ross, are passionate about building these custom homes for people and providing a healthier option in housing.
