The wood cabin is a very charming farmhouse that is tastefully decorated and situated in rural West Simsbury, Connecticut. During your vacation stay you'll get to experience everyday farm life from helping gather the 400 eggs daily to feeding treats to the petting zoo animals.

Family-Friendly Amenities

You'll enjoy this family farm experience getaway, in this beautiful cabin building with a second-story balcony with a grill, a dining table for four people, Adirondack chairs, a new retractable cover for the outdoor porch great for relaxing evenings while looking out at the farm. The wood cabin has a queen-sized bed in the one-room and bunk bed with a twin-sized bed on top and a full-size bed on the bottom in another room with an additional single twin-sized bed in the corner. The farmhouse cabin building has solar heated water and electric, air conditioning, and a pellet stove for heat.

Entertainment and Comfort

The farmhouse vacation rental has plenty of great books and toys that are provided for kids' use. There is a family room with a 42-inch flat-screen smart television with a DVD player. The cabin building has a pellet stove with a glass door for viewing the fire. There is a dining area for six people with an additional two chairs if needed, three large closets, a fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer, and a fridge stocked with the farm's fresh eggs, muffins, juice, milk, cream, coffee, and tea. The farmhouse is close to peaceful meadows and walking trails and access to the petting zoo is included during and after office hours.

Pet-Friendly Policies and Activities

The farmhouse cabin building has wifi, and allows for friendly dogs with current rabies certificate are allowed if first approved with the owner. There are absolutely no cats allowed. For additional fees, you can go on a farm tour, collecting eggs, go on a hayride, and pony rides. There is free access to the petting zoo whenever you would like to see the animals. The weekend days on the farm tend to be pretty busy from April through to November. They have children's birthday parties going on and petting zoo visitors. The farm closes at 5 pm to the public and the nights are very quiet and private other than the barnyard sounds you will hear from the animals.

Local Attractions and Recommendations

The farmhouse vacation rental is located in a quaint quiet neighborhood in a rural farm setting. This is a beautiful open space and wooded trails for walking across the street. Just five minutes away is the Simsbury Farms Public golf course with pools in the summer months and skating/sledding in the winter months. Tulmeadow farm is a homemade ice cream stand that is just walking distance through the meadows. You can ski Sundown just 15 minutes away for fun family skiing. There are plenty of romantic restaurants in Simsbury. It is recommended that you rent a car. Simsbury also has a free bike rental program.
