This Old Garage was Revamped into a Spacious, Barn Home Inspired Retreat

Reviving a Dual-Purpose Space

This old garage was renovated into a spacious barn-inspired home. Just take a look at the double doors. To start the original doors for a two-car garage were used in the renovation. But this garage had a double purpose, back in its day it was used as a garage to house vehicles, but it also housed horses as well. So the garage was a barn too. It's amazing what you can salvage when you put your minds to it, and this renovation is a true inspiration.

The Trend of Sustainable Renovations

It's so amazing what designers and builders can do with just about anything these days, such as taking storage containers and renovating them into tiny house buildings and old beat-up garages into luxurious writer's retreats just like this one. This is a fun project to do that transforms an old structure into something new. This trend is only going to grow more popular as people become more environmentally conscious. Truly, it only makes sense to renovated when possible instead of tearing buildings down when you already have something to work with. By salvaging old buildings such as this old garage, you are cutting down on so much waste. They didn't want to hide the fact that this space was once a barn, quite the contrary they wanted to highlight it. The result with this renovation is a very unique-looking getaway that any one of us would be proud to call your own.

A Creative Haven

The interior of this lovely modern barn is gorgeous, with so much thought going into every last detail. This modern barn was meant to be a writer's or artist's retreat, a place where you can go to tap into your creativity. Spaciousness was an important part of this renovation, so you have a sense of space to envision a new writing project or come up with new ideas. Everywhere you look in this wonderful place; there is plenty of room. The arched ceilings allow maximum headroom as well, with an airy spaciousness and warm glowing reclaimed wood floor that gives the home design an atmosphere of an old country home. The fireplace in this modern barn not only adds warmth but also a sense of romance. There are plenty of windows, maximizing light exposure, further brightening the clean white walls. The open-concept kitchen and living room help to give this space a relaxed feeling and allows for direct communication no matter which room you are in.

Luxurious and Functional Features

This lovely one-bedroom barn cabin retreat has it all, and the bathroom is one of its best features. It has a lovely antique claw foot tub, complete with a wooden platform that allows you to read or write with a glass of wine. This renovation has thought of everything. Another great room is the one just off the kitchen; when you slide open the beautiful antique barn door, you'll find a lovely little sitting room, complete with a comfy couch and a wicker swing chair. This room can also double as an extra bedroom if you have more guests and are in a pinch. Otherwise, it's the perfect space to curl up for a good, long window-dreaming session. And, to make it all this just perfect, they've added in several modern elements to complement the vintage rustic home design, for example, they've included new kitchen appliances, lots of windows, light fixtures, plumbing and wiring. Everything is brand new in this modern barn and perfect working order, with all the comforts of modern-day life.
