Planning and designing a log cabin building is a timely and exciting process, that will have you considering all your wants and needs in a home regardless if it is for full time or vacation living. You'll have to determine the sort of log cabin floorplan that works best for your lifestyle, and all of the features that you want and need in a wood cabin. You will also have to make a priority list of things that are most important to you in your log cabin or custom log house. Things like the size and the location of the master bedroom, and whether or not you are going to have a big kitchen, a dining room, family room, and outdoor patios and porches. You'll want to think about the placement of the bedrooms, and amenities such as a garage, mudroom, and sauna.
