Overview of The Saplings Lodge
The Saplings are part of Penllwyn Lodges in Garthmyl, Montgomery, Mid Wales. These spacious two-story lodges have a ground floor with two twins, a kitchen with a dishwasher and an L-shaped lounge/diner. In the cozy cabin, there is a bath with an overhead shower and the first floor with two doubles. The Sapling lodge has 4 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 8 people and up to 2 pets. The lodge is just 3 miles away from fishing. The cabin vacation rentals have wifi, golf on-site, are pet-friendly, individually designed in 30 acres of woodland, each lodge set within its plot on a wooded hill. The Saplings have an outdoor hot tub (in the Beeches Spa, Cedars Spa, Penllwyn Hawthorn Spa, Penllwyn Pines Spa, the Sycamore and The Log Spa only), television, DVD/CD, wifi, and a kitchen that includes a microwave and fridge/freezer.
Cabin Amenities and Accessibility
The cozy cabin building has a bath and or shower, bed linens, duvets, and one bath and hand towel per person, heating throughout, cots and highchairs at an additional fee, barbecue stand available for disposable barbecues only, and pets are welcome at no charge to a maximum of 2 pets. Due to the steep gradients and steps at the Saplings lodge cabins, the grounds at Penllwyn Lodges vacation rentals are not suitable for wheelchair users or persons who have severe mobility difficulties. However, two of the lodges, the Penllwyn Foxglove and The Squirrels Drey, have access for wheelchairs you'll want to check when booking.
Benefits of Staying in a Wood Cabin
Not only will you enjoy the lovely location of the Sapling vacation lodges but you'll benefit from staying in a cabin made of wood. There are several benefits to using wood building materials in your cabin building. Wood cabins are a good type of building to support, that is because wood building materials need the least amount of energy to manufacture and have the lowest impact on both air and water quality. Wood is a natural building material, so it doesn't have any of the toxic by-products that are often associated with other building materials when being manufactured. When you stay in a wood cabin you may find yourself having some of the best sleep of your life, that is because wood is a natural building material that is healthy to breathe in and usually wood cabins are located close to nature, so its a win-win situation. Wood is the only major natural building material that is renewable.
Environmental Impact of Wood Building Materials
The trees that are used cabin building can help to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as they grow. And even after the tree is cut down and harvested, the same carbons are still stored within the wood. A cabin building stores carbons forever. The same cannot be said for other building materials such as concrete or steel. Research has shown that 26 percent less greenhouse gas emissions were created when using wood was used versus steel building materials and 31 percent less greenhouse gas emissions were produced when using wood versus concrete. This is another reason that cabins are a good choice for the environment, as there is a significant reduction and amount in the number of greenhouse gasses when using wood over steel or concrete.
