For them it's a good choice since Maine's Aroostook County, where their mills are located, holds one of the largest stands of Northern White Cedar in North America. The wood is abundant, sustainable and a naturally renewable tree. Because of our strict grading, not every cedar log they purchase is made into log home wall stock. So, they have thought of alternative uses for just about every bit of the log that they bring into their facility. One of the most important steps in your log home planning is choosing the piece of property where you will build your log home. You want your land to complement the design of your log home. Once you have chosen your log home building site, you'll want to ask your log home dealer to review the property with you to determine if there are any topological features that may affect the design of your log home. You also want to make sure that you have chosen the best spot on the property to maximize views and solar exposure.
