One of the great things about Yankee Barn Homes is their custom panelling system in both their roof and wall systems. They use their own patent-pending systems that allow for ease of construction as well as energy efficiency. They use ridged foam insulation which provides the highest R-value per inch of thickness, so with one of their homes you're getting R 55.3 to R 66.5).

Each panel has two crisscrossing layers of insulation to reduce the heat escape and to keep the home nice and warm. They also built in a roof vent space which is required by most roofing material manufacturers. It also minimizes the accumulation of ice and keeps shingles in good shape for a long time.
