The Latin name for cedar tree - arborvitae means "tree of life" because it supplies many beings with life. Deer, birds and other forest animals eat the leaves, and the oils have been used as medicine for centuries.

Cedarwood is also used to build saunas and makes for the perfect type of wood for building fences and decks as well as outdoor furniture because of its ability to stand up to the elements. This is why Riverbend Log Homes only works with this type of wood.
