A term you hear quite often when it comes to log cabin buildings is thermal mass. Log homes have high thermal mass potential since the logs store heat and then they release it when the temperatures in the cabin drop. The heat will not transfer either, so even though temperatures may be freezing outside, the air inside of the log cabin will stay nice and warm. This makes log cabin buildings and homes very energy efficient.
