Versatile Design for Every Need

The Aylesford Lake log cottage is designed with a multitude of needs in mind. Whether you'll be using this as your everyday residence or just a weekend escape, you won't be disappointed. The log cabin designs for this cottage come from Heartwood Log Homes a lob home and cabin builder in Margaretsville, Nova Scotia. The company custom builds all of their log cabins and homes using hand-peeled logs which will help to bring people closer to nature. The contractors and craftsmen take a lot of care to build these handcrafted log home so that they can be enjoyed for years to come. All of the logs are scribed and fit perfectly with the log beneath it creating a seamless look for the exterior walls. The interior walls of the cabin are also made up of all logs since they use round logs in the construction of the cabins. This not only creates a beautiful traditional look, but it also means that the log cabin will be more energy efficient too.

Welcoming Interior and Functional Layout

From the outside, the cabin looks very welcoming with a deck and double doors on one side. Inside, there is an L-shaped living room that gives free movement and an efficient line of sight throughout the living space making it perfect for families. Cathedral ceilings exude a charm that is indicative of the historical beginnings of such a home and the exposed beams inside give a strong and earthy feeling, as though the cottage has somehow been there forever. The loft area is huge and depending on your needs could be a lovely spot for a master suite complete with your own bathroom and walk-in closet. It could also be used as a kids sleeping area or even an office space. Entertaining guests will be a breeze thanks to the great room design on the main floor.
