The off-grid home is located in West Bolton, Vermont, United States, and it can accommodate up to 2 guests with one bedroom, 1 bed, and one bathroom. During your stay, you will have use of the entire cabin building to yourself. This is a great location to enjoy the green mountains, you can park your car and enjoy the short hike up to your private mountainside off-grid retreat. There are several well maintained hiking trails that surround the area. The off-grid retreat is minutes from the Long Trail, beautiful swimming holes, renowned rock climbing, golfing, kayaking, fishing, skiing, mountain biking, and snowboarding.

The off-grid tiny house features at this vacation rental include the solar-heated outdoor shower (seasonal), outhouse, non-potable running water in the kitchen (seasonal), and a wood stove to keep you warm on chilly nights, and propane cook stove.

The wood stove is the only source of heat inside the cabin, so a working knowledge of fire-starting is a must! We do not have refrigeration but provide a cooler for use during your stay. In the cabin building, there are plates, bowls, cups, utensils, simple cooking tools, a saucepan, a kettle, a frying pan, coffee grinder, a roasting pan, a french press, mixing bowl, and a strainer. Bedding and towels are also provided. The cabin building sits on a 20-acre lot that you are welcome to explore if you choose. The off-grid cabin building is adjacent to hundreds of acres of protected forestland with well-maintained hiking trails.

The cabin building is a short hike from the parking spot.

You'll want to be prepared to carry in your supplies and belongings. There is no electricity in the cabin. There is a small solar panel that powers the lights in the kitchen. There is no wifi at the cabin building vacation rental. The only source of heat is the tiny woodstove. During your stay firewood is provided, but you should be able to start a fire on your own if you are staying in the cooler months. The running water in the sink is not suitable to use for drinking.

There is a spring on the way up to the cabin building where you can fill your water bottles.

The shower is solar heated, which means the water temperature will be dependent on the sun. In freezing temperatures or times of severe drought, there may not be any running water. The solar collector for the outdoor shower is disconnected and drained for the winter when the temperatures reach the 30s.

The upstairs loft is accessed by a vertical ladder that is attached to the wall.

You may choose to sleep on the downstairs futon if you don't want to use the ladder. The cabin building is rustic and the items provided are minimal. During your stay, you might hike Libby's Look, find a secluded swimming hole, explore Preston Pond without having to get in your car. The off-grid cabin building is centrally located in a great spot for snowboarding and skiing.
