This mountain wood cabin retreat is perfect for a peaceful holiday away, located in Bohinj, Slovenia. The rustic wood cabin can accommodate up to 2 guests with one bedroom and a half bath. During your vacation stay, you'll have the entire cabin building to yourself. The log cabin retreat is set in a peaceful and secluded location of the Triglav National Park at 1340 meter altitude, surrounded with wildlife and beautiful nature. The wood cabin has views of the mountains above Lake Bohinj and the southern Julian Alps. The cabin building retreat doesn't have any neighboring houses, just privacy in this handcrafted, off-grid cabin building that offers a perfect retreat for mountain, hikers, and nature lovers.

Simplistic Comforts for a Rustic Experience

Although the cabin building is off-grid without running water, it has an outhouse and a portable battery-operated shower, it does ofter simplicity as you will find everything you need for a comfortable stay. The entire cabin building is at your disposal during your vacation stay, including four acres of private land that surrounds it. It is not a 5-star accommodation but a rustic cabin with charm and love for nature. The rustic cabin building features wooden floors and tiling, oversized timber beams, handcrafted decor and furniture, a fully equipped kitchen with a wood-burning stove for cooking and heating, a seating and dining area, and a mezzanine area with one double bed.

Well-Equipped Kitchen for Your Needs

The kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils and everything you need for cooking. Additionally, there is a small gas cooker to use for coffee, tea, soups, and more. There is also a marble hot plate that is available for outdoor barbecuing. There are a Raclette and fondue set for two people at your disposal. The wood cabin has a shower but the cabin building has no hot running water, but a solar shower and one portable battery-operated outdoor and indoor shower that turns water from a bucket. In case of bad weather, you can also heat the water for the shower on the stove. There is an outdoor composting toilet that is located 10 meters behind the wood cabin.

Renewable Energy and Water Considerations

The cabin building is powered by renewable energy through the solar panels and will accommodate most of the low wattage devices such as cameras, phone chargers, battery chargers, and more. The solar energy is not adapted for a day to day usage of radio, computer, or any other similar device. There is running water for showering and dishwashing that is collected by the rain.

Water Supply and Packing Advice

There is a limited amount of drinking water that is provided in large bottles upon your arrival. There is also a small fresh running water source, that is situated a 20-minute walk away from the wood cabin, which you need to get on your own or you can bring along drinking water with you. It is recommended that you bring along your backpack with essentials, instead of heavy suitcases, as you will have to carry it down on your own. The owner will only be able to drive you up to the wood cabin.
