Preparing meals for the whole group comes easy in the fully equipped kitchen. In the evening, gather around the gas stove for conversation and relaxation. Group features of the wood cabin include a large gathering area with a television in the loft for movie watching. Everyone will want to pull up a chair out on the deck and stay awhile. The fresh mountain breeze is filled with the sounds of nature, and you won't believe how bright the stars are at night, especially when you're enjoying a soak in the bubbly hot tub.

Features of the two-story home include that it is an Energy Star Certified Green Built home with 2 bedrooms (1 king, 1 queen, 1 full futon), and 2 full shower baths.

The upper level has a loft living area. It is recommended in winter that you have a 4WD or AWD vehicle. Once you reach the wood cabin you will be rewarded with seclusion, beauty, and a lot of fun just getting there.

There is plenty to see and do in the area, if you enjoy hiking you can visit the North Carolina section of the Appalachian trail which rises to spectacular summits to include the 6,643-foot Clingmans Dome, the highest mountain on the Appalachian Trail, and drops into the dark and steep walls of the Nantahala River Gorge.

The Appalachian Trail has 95.7 miles in North Carolina, but the also Trail runs along the Tennessee/North Carolina border for 224.7 additional miles. As the Appalachian Trail ascends to the High Country of the state line, hikers on the trail traverse the highest mountains along the trail, including several above 6,000 feet. When visiting the trail you will need an advance permit for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and depending on the length of your hike, shelter reservations as well.

Another activity to enjoy during your vacation stay is a visit to the Fines Creek Farm and elegant, yet naturally rustic and weathered post and beam barn that was originally built for the owners family-run antique shop which features over 5,000 square feet of indoor space on two floors, with flexible layouts and an open floor plan.

At the barn, there is tons of outdoor space under the attached covered overhang. The barn is surrounded by towering white pines and mountain views, with the barn’s side doors opening to a quaint courtyard garden of boxwood, flowering trees, and perennials.
