Exploring Customizable Log Home Designs

When you're looking for that perfect log home design, it really helps to have a good look around to see what's available and what sparks your interest. Coventry Log Homes, a log builder in New Hampshire features over 60 log home designs all of which can be customized to suit your needs and preferences. It's wonderful that their designs can be changed up since everyone has different needs and unique styles. These changes can be something as simple as changing the orientation of the deck or the kitchen or adding another bedroom or bathroom to the design. You can even add other things like windows or extra doors depending on how you want your house to look and function. The Deerfield log home design is one of the great designs they feature on their website, and it's from the Craftsman series of log homes in their collection. They also have a line of Tradesman log homes which are more budget-friendly, cabins which are for recreational use and timber frame homes which are a great option if you don't want your entire home build out of logs. They also offer different log corner profiles and log profiles too. So you can have full round logs or half logs depending on your preference.

Floor Plan and Features of the Deerfield Model

The floor plan for the Deerfield includes a 32 foot by 48-foot space with 1,376 square feet in total. So it is one of their smaller models, but it's still a great size for a smaller family. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in the house as well and an open concept living space with cathedral ceilings opening up the whole room. So even though the footprint may seem small, when you walk into the home and see the high ceilings, your eye is drawn upward causing you to feel like the space is larger than it actually is. The large wall of windows is also helpful for opening up the space as well as allowing natural light and heat from the sun into the home to offset heating and electrical costs. Customers can choose to build the home from the logs only package which costs around $66,250 for the Pre-cut Log Package, for the Shell it costs around $100,200 then for the 6x8 Complete Package it costs $111,800, and for the 8x8 Complete Package, it's $120,750 to start. Customers can also add on other features at an extra cost.

The Benefits of Using Cedarwood in Log Homes

Coventry Log Homes also offers Cedarwood as an option for the type of wood that they'll build the log home out of. Cedar is a very highly valued type of wood because of its wonderful properties and ability to last for years. Cedar also looks beautiful and has a gorgeous natural colour that's hard to mimic. The natural oils and chemicals in the wood ward off mold and insects that can harm the home, which is what helps keep these log homes stable for years and years. You can see that there are many different variations of this design and that any design can be finished; however, the customer likes. Usually finishing touches like fixtures, cabinets, countertops, and other items are up to the customer to add to their log home once the entire home is finished. Customers will also be responsible for laying down the foundation in preparation for the assembly of the home once the company delivers it to the site. Some people choose to build their own log home packages while others will hire on contractors to do the work for them. Enjoy looking at this variation of the Deerfield log home design and get inspired for your own log home build.
