The cabin is tucked away from all of the noise and traffic but minutes to the amazing attractions Beech Mountain has to offer including Buckeye Lake Recreation Center (1.2 miles, Entrance to Beech Mountain Ski Resort (3 miles), Fred's Mercantile (4 miles), and over 40 hiking and nature trails.

Up to 2 dogs are allowed with an additional pet fee. The cabin has a Ring spotlight camera located at the front door of the cabin showing the front steps, driveway and bear cage trash area. For fishing at Buckeye Lake during your stay, you'll need a trout license for ages 16 and older from the Buckeye Lake and Recreation Center.

Trout anglers have multiple options on Beech Mountain.

The town has two lakes, as well as a handful of mountain streams. Two of those streams include Buckeye Creek and Pond Creek which are part of the High Country Mountain Heritage Trout Waters Trail. Buckeye Creek is a hatchery-supported stream (open first Saturday in April through the last day of February). It has some nice pools and riffles as it flows out of Buckeye Lake and, further downstream, several good fishing areas below a waterfall. It is stocked annually with brown, rainbow, and brook trout. Pond Creek is designated catch-and-release single hook artificial lures only by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. Pond Creek has a long stretch of available water than Buckeye Creek and it’s inhabited by native brook trout. Other options on Beech Mountain are Lake Coffey and Buckeye Lake, two small lakes stocked annually by the Wildlife Resources Commission. Lake Coffey is designated as delayed harvest trout waters, while Buckeye Lake is designated hatchery supported. Both receive a large annual infusion of the brown, rainbow, and brook trout. Anglers need a regular North Carolina inland license to fish in those lakes.
