The architectural home design in north Iceland is one of the apartments in Villa Lola, which is located in Vaolaheioi near Akureyri, which is the capital of North Iceland. You will have a view over the bay and of Akureyri. In the wintertime, you can also enjoy the aurora borealis and in the summertime the midnight sun.

Akureyri is just a ten-minute drive away, here you will find all kinds of shops, cafes, restaurants, galleries and lots of professional music concerts as well as a summer music festival.

In the modern apartment, there is a living area with a sofa, television, dining table and a fully equipped kitchen. On the first floor of the vacation, home designs are a bathroom and one bedroom with a bunk bed. Above the bathroom is a loft where there is a double bed. Towels and bed linen are included in the price. We offer an extra bed and baby bed on request. There is easy access to Akureyri but also to all of the interesting sites that surround it.

From the modern home design you can take hiking tours, walk up to Sulur, which is the mountain above Akureyri, where you can rent horses for daily tours or a for midnight sun ride, visit a naturally heated swimming pool, or you can hire kayaks or join professional diving, play golf on the most northern 18 hole golf ground.

Other activities you might try include going on an angling trip, walking along the fjord and hearing about the birthplace and home of heli-skiing in Iceland, the Troll Peninsula, just below the Arctic Circle. In the winter, you can ski or go cross-country skiing in the best ski resort with a beautiful view of the fjord. You might choose to go dog sledding with their huskies and snowshoe walks or fishing through the ice.

Also, another activity is driving the road skirting the beautiful western shore of the Eyjafjordur Fjord, with a visit to the magnificent waterfalls, Gooafoss and Dettifoss, Dimmuborgir, Myvatn, considered the Grand Canyon of Jokulsargljufur along with whale watching in Husavík.

It is also possible to take an organized day trip from Akureyri to the island of Grimsey, which is a location that straddles the Arctic Circle. Icelandair offers flights to Akureyri, it is also just a 45-minute flight from Reykjavik downtown to the town of Akureyri. It is only a 7-kilometer drive from the airport to the modern vacation house. If you are driving, Akureyri is on the ring road and is only about a 5 to 6-hour drive from Reykjavik.
