This small cottage plan is a remodeled 1930's cottage that Jimi Hendrix stayed in when he was on Maui in 1970 to film the Rainbow Bridge.

The tiny cabin building was recently remodeled, is lined with cedar on the inside so it smells lovely when you walk in. The Gingerbread House is a studio small cottage plan with a kitchenette, a toaster oven, coffee maker, microwave,counter-top burners, and a full-sized fridge. The cabin building has a spacious bathroom with a large custom-built, tiled shower. The small cottage plan has high cathedral ceilings with a huge window that looks out onto beautiful lush greenery.

There is also recently improved wireless Internet in the small cottage plan, as well as wireless available to you in several other locations on the property.

The tiny cabin building has a television with Netflix access and a new larger water heater, so you should have ample hot water during your stay. The cabin building is beautifully decorated and has a queen-sized bed and an outdoor patio located underneath a spectacular tree canopy. The Gingerbread House property is on 4.5 acres of lush scenery with a seasonal stream, fruit trees to include papaya, banana, plantains, oranges, and lilikoi which you can help yourself to, an organic veggie start farm, mac nuts, avocado, lychee, mango, guava, grapefruit, tangerines, lemons, coconuts, noni, it really is magical. You also have access during your stay to an additional 4 acres on the adjacent property, which is home of The Sacred Garden

The tiny cabin building is just 20 minutes from the airport and a Costco, and only 2 miles away to Makawao town restaurants and shops, 5 minutes to Haiku, 7 minutes to Paia, 5, and 50 Minutes to the Haleakala National Park entrance.

There is also another house available to rent on the property, perfect if you need more space for a larger gathering. And if that weren't enough the owner offers retreat services to include guided labyrinth walks, relationship coaching, personal and spiritual growth, and work with Maui's best practitioners so you can enjoy these services too if you wish. This rental is on the property adjacent to The Sacred Garden, a beautiful place with two walking labyrinths, meditation gardens, water lily ponds, and more, better yet it is free and open to the public daily.

The elevation of the cabin building is about 1000 feet which are perfect on Maui. They are about 10 degrees cooler than sea level which makes for comfortable days and ideal temperatures for sleeping. This is the maximum elevation you can stay and still go scuba diving on Maui. You will, however, want a rental car, as there is a bus stop a mile or two away but not ideal, and bikes are a little hazardous as the location has windy, hilly, narrow roads.
