A Stunning Modern Log House with Dark Wood and Stone Accents

A gorgeous mix of rustic and modern style combined in this stunning modern log house from Precision Craft Log and Timber Homes. This incredible home effortlessly ties in with the landscape to give the owners beautiful views of the lake. The dark wood is warm creating an inviting home with tons of natural charm. These natural timber beams are also used throughout the interior of the home, and the windows open the inside up to the landscape outside. Also, it's pretty incredible that each space in the home has an outdoor living space as well, so this home is very connected to the outdoors. The log home is located in Georgetown Lake, Montana and is called the Georgetown Lake Residence. It's a whopping 4,593 square feet which is huge and could be suitable for a large family. The impressive design features an entire wall of windows in the centre of the home with glass doors incorporated into the design that lead out into the expansive yard and out to the lake as well. From the front side of the home, you wouldn't be able to even see the entire house unless you were right in front of it because it's set down at the bottom of the hill, so the hill protects it in a way as well. From the exterior, along with all of the wood and timbers, there is also a handcrafted stone fireplace and some other stonework incorporated into the design which adds to the textures and colours of the building. This mix of materials also flows into the inside of the home as well creating a very modern and natural look for the home.

The home was designed base off of the Cascade Floor Plan Concept from Precision Craft Log and Timber Homes and was modified to suit the owner's preferences. They included 3 bedrooms, along with 5 bathrooms and plenty of other spaces to enjoy. The main floor holds the living room, dining room and kitchen as well as the master bedroom, an office, an exercise room and a mud room leading out to the garage. The master bedroom features a sitting room, a large walk-in closet, and a gorgeous ensuite bathroom with a huge shower, two sinks, and a toilet. The master suite also features a private covered deck with French doors leading to the outside and another set of doors off of the bathroom into the side yard. Then, the basement level features the other two bedrooms with two bathrooms as well and another open patio. To enter the home from the front door, you must be standing on top of the hill and go in through the door that's perched up there. Walking in through that door you're greeted by the kitchen area that is accessed down a flight of stairs. The interesting thing about this home design is that has many different layers and levels all accessed by beautifully crafted staircases.

The kitchen is a gorgeous and natural space with lovely slate tile backsplash and stone countertops with dark wood cabinetry to match the dark wood timbers. There is an island in the kitchen with ample seating and space to sit and eat at the counter. Then, there is a bar area where there's a large wine fridge to keep wines at the proper temperatures and glassware with a sink for making drinks. Nearby to the kitchen and drink prep area is the dining room where everyone can sit and enjoy a beautiful meal overlooking the living room with views of the outdoors. Down another small flight of stairs is the living room which includes the massive fireplace and TV with a mantle and great access to the yard. This log home design is a treasure and no wonder it has been featured in Big Sky Journal in the summer of 2018. It also got the 2018 Excellence in Timber Home Design from NAHB Building Systems Councils and the 2017 BALA Gold Award for One-of-a-Kind Custom Home. What a gorgeous log home design.
