Take a look inside the Nest by Skybox Cabins in Glen Rose, Texas, United States. Located at the tip-top of the Texas hill country, The Nest offers spectacular views from its perch. Recently featured on the Southern Living website, The Nest is a hybrid cabin building with features of both a treehouse and a bohemian bungalow. This truly customized vacation getaway is filled with wonders from the portal entry to its Texas cedar observatory. Once you arrive at this cabin, you'll never want to leave.

Access and Surroundings

To access The Nest, you must follow the rock path through the portal gate and onto the front porch. The cedar harvested from our property surrounds over half the cabin and provides a decorative camouflage. From the cover of nearby cedar and hardwoods, you are guaranteed a concert from our local birds and maybe even a gobble from the wild turkeys. Deer, jackrabbits, horses, and a couple of cows may also visit you.

Amenities Offered

The Nest is furnished with electricity, hot water, air conditioning, and heating. The cabin has a small refrigerator, coffee maker, induction cooktop, and microwave that can be found in the kitchenette. There is no TV or Internet so bring a book or maybe just good company. The following will also be provided with your vacation stay include bed linens and pillows (queen-size memory foam bed), towels, shampoo/conditioner, body wash/soap, picnic grill (provide your charcoal), plates, silverware, some cooking utensils, pots, and pans. Also included are a water filtration system with drinking water on tap at the kitchen sink, and some snacks and drinks. The vacation property is gated and the entrance code will be provided on your check-in date. The keycode to the Nest will also be provided at that time. Parking is available on-site.

Exploring the Property

Guests of The Nest are free to explore the 50 acres of private land. Walk the vacation property down to Possum Hollow creek (seasonal) and stick your feet in the cold Paluxy water or find a sunny spot on an oversized limestone rock and just have a drink and relax. The cabin is located minutes from Dinosaur Valley State Park, downtown Glen Rose, and Fossil Rim, there are options for outings if you bring yourself to leave the serenity found in our little bungalow.

Nature and Guest Policies

The vacation property is located in nature and you can expect to find some creepy crawlies. You'll want to make sure you pack bug spray if you plan on spending time outside walking around, especially in the mornings and early evenings. The owner's dogs do have free reign of the property. They are friendly and love to lead guests on walks. To maintain a serene environment for all vacation guests, guests under the age of 18 or more than two guests are not permitted. Guests who violate this rule will be asked to leave the property immediately.
