If you are looking for a magical vacation idea for you and your family, this treehouse in San German, Puerto Rico is for you.

The unique vacation getaway includes an entire treehouse that can accommodate up to 5 guests, with two bedrooms, 2 beds, and one bathroom. The cabin building is a magical experience that sits in the tropical flora and fauna, with a metal roof that sounds especially lovely in the rolling rain. This unique cabin building is complete with the occasional visit by birds, geckos, bats, and coquis (local frogs). This cabin building treehouse surrounds a palm tree, which is open to the outdoors and 20 feet up in the air, with scenic views of the jungle.

You'll want to note that you will awaken to a rooster and fall asleep to the sounds of the frogs. Earplugs are recommended and you may want to bring along some Melatonin if you have a hard time falling or staying asleep. The treehouse has a mini-kitchen with everything you need for cooking and eating lite meals. The kitchen has a coffee maker, hot plate, microwave oven, refrigerator, and utensils. The treehouse has a bathroom with a hot shower, vessel sink, and a composting toilet. The outdoor patio sits high within the trees and has a couple of hammocks so you can sit back and enjoy the view.

There is a second bedroom that is a small loft with a queen-sized bed above the kitchen which is accessed by a ladder. Another thing you will want to note is that Puerto Ricans love their dogs and several live close by. A new treehouse cabin building has been added nearby and you may hear the other treehouse guests through the foliage. Guests of the treehouse vacation rental have access to the five acres of landscaped grounds with brick and flagstone walkways, various ponds, terraces, and rock walls. The living space of the treehouse is 20 feet up in the air accessed by a 23 stair circular staircase that leads to the upper deck. If you have any physical limitations or are afraid of heights this is probably not the vacation idea for you.

The summers are about 80 to 95 percent rainy. During October and November, you will get the most bugs, but the treehouse has mosquito netting that helps to protect sleep. The winters are about 65 to 80 percent dryer, and it can be chilly in the evenings and early mornings. Guests will want to bring warmer clothes like warm-ups, socks, long-sleeve T-shirts or light jackets. Bug spray and long pants and long sleeves are advised for protection at dusk. You might want to bring along a poncho for excursions. The storm season starts in June and strong weather can cause occasional power outages.
