Tranquil Location

The mooring of this unique houseboat is on Java Island, which is a central location and a haven of tranquility, a short distance from the old city, and just within sight of Central Station. The houseboat vacation rental is a 36 by 6m ship house that has an upstairs on the upper deck and we live in the main family residence downstairs in the hull. (*' saloon' = the social cabin for first-class passengers). Somaya's Saloon is one-of-a-kind and is situated upstairs in the large steering hut of our classic ship. Somaya's Saloon has its separate entrance and is completely private & self-sufficient. It's JUST YOU upstairs, so you are always our only & exclusive guests! You have the 'suite' luxury of your bathroom, kitchenette, double bed, sofa & lounge area in a 45m2 blend of crisp design with a classic touch. Somoya's Saloon can accommodate 2 adults very comfortably.

Stunning Views and Activities

Somoya's Saloon vacation rental offers great views of the harbor, from the east to Central Station, plus the boat has a large 60 square meter south-facing sun-deck where you can catch the sun in the morning and scenic views at night. From the deck, you can enjoy your morning coffee with a view, and at night watch the skyline from the comfort of your home away from home. Most guests end up spending much more time on the houseboat than they had originally planned. The houseboat rental is close to all sorts of activities, from walking, swimming in the harbor, and renting SUP boards. Some trams and buses stop close by and you can easily walk into town. There are also free bicycles which are the best way to get around town and add to your freedom and authentic Amsterdam experience.

The Amsterdam houseboat has a huge shared deck with a hammock and seating areas which are yours to use during your stay. The houseboat vacation rental includes 2 free bicycles to use with locks, a hammock, fireplace on the sundeck and barbecue too, complimentary coffee and tea, welcome beverages in the fridge, complimentary muesli, eggs, milk, butter, crackers, and condiments. The modern houseboat has a microwave, oven, toaster, kettle, and coffee machine. There is a well-equipped kitchenette where you can prepare simple meals, bathrobes, towels, hairdryer, and wifi. Somoya's Saloon is run as a luxury self-sufficient Amsterdam apartment as opposed to a full-service hotel room.
