The area is served by a local taxi service originating 10 miles away. It is highly recommended that you bring your vehicle to better explore the islands with their many diverse areas and habitats.

Exploring Friday Harbor

Friday Harbor, Washington is a place to go if you want a slower pace. The charming, historic, and walkable seaport is just a step away from the ferry landing, with several small, friendly restaurants, and shops. You won't find any fast-food chains in Friday Harbor. Things to do include a visit to the San Juan Islands Museum of Art, San Juan Historical Museum, San Juan Community Theatre, and so much more. You might rent a moped to explore the island or catch an inter-island ferry to explore the other islands of Lopex, Shaw, and Orcas.

During your stay, you can visit the community at Brickworks Plaza, a place that was restored in 2013 and takes its name from its original, historic role. Brickworks Plaza has a large hall and an outdoor plaza for community gatherings and concerts.
