And as affordable as a log cabin building can be, you can make it even more cost-effective with a little bit of pre-planning. There are things to do that will help to make your log cabin building keep within your budget. To start you want to keep your log cabin building simple with a small footprint. A log cabin building with a small, square footprint helps keep your log house construction costs down. And you want to stick to the stock floor plan, as customizing a log house with extra corners and bump-outs in the log house floor plan can add costs in quickly. Another tip for keeping your log house construction within budget is to keep your finishes consistent. You might skimp on window quality to spend a bit more on a fireplace, which can result in savings on heating bills down the road, and if you need to stay in log house budget, useless windows but don't compromise on the quality.

Planning and Maintenance for a Log Cabin

When it comes to building a log house construction you want to have a thorough log house plan so you don't have to go back and spend more time and money on the part of the log house design that you had not considered, such as utilities or kitchen amenities. It is important to understand that even a low-cost log cabin building will need proper maintenance and you want to also stick to the recommended guidelines for protective wood cabin overhangs and clutter-free landscaping.
