In the category for a Log House Under 2,000 Square Feet: The Blue Ridge Luxe 1 took home the award for the best log home of them all for it's clean and modern design. We're so used to seeing traditional log home designs that it's nice when we're shown something with some modern flair and innovation. This home not only has some great style, but it also incorporates outdoor living with indoor living creating the perfect balance of home and nature. They used the space very efficiently and added 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms in 1,417 square feet of space which is pretty impressive.

The next home that won an award for the best home Under 2,000 Square Feet was the The Danbury created by Southland Log Homes of Irmo, South Carolina. The company did a fabulous job of executing a traditional style log home which is what everyone expects to see when they think of a log home. It's a great floor plan because they fit everything on one level making this a nice log home design for those who don't want to involve any stairs in the design. Plus, it allows the entire space to have those gorgeous vaulted ceilings that everyone loves, plus a stunning fireplace. Even though there isn't an upper floor, there is a walkout basement giving the home more space without having to increase the floor plan and square footage. They fit 3 bedrooms and 2 and a half bathrooms in 1,789 square feet making for the perfect family home.

The first home that one the award for a Log Home between 2,001 - 3,000 Square Feet was The Epps Residence by well-known log home builder, Honest Abe Log Homes from Moss, Tennessee. Honest Abe Log Homes delivered once again with a beautiful log home design that embraces lakeside views. They also implemented some modern touches with timber framing and drywall for a contemporary look and gave the exterior a white stain which is a surprising, yet welcome modification of the regular natural wood stain. This home has 2,430 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 2 and a half bathrooms making it another great family home.

The other 2,001 - 3,000 Square Foot home is the Caroline One by Southland Log Homes of Irmo, South Carolina. This is the quintessential log home with a traditional color scheme and design. The floorplan is 2,475 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 2 and a half bathrooms with two-stories. This is a home that could suit any stage of life and is very practical and traditional which many people gravitate towards.

The first home winning the award for the best Log Home between 3,001 and 4,000 Square Feet is the stunning The Patterson Residence, again another home by Honest Abe Log Homes. This home is nothing short of amazing and shows just what can be done with logs in building. The exterior is done in full round logs which carries into the interior where you also see the rounded logs on the walls. The living room is stunning with high ceilings and a huge fireplace with windows incorporated to bring in lots of light. They also added in elements of modern design including the stair railing made out of metal wires paired with floating log steps up to the second level. The kitchen is absolutely breathtaking with arched ceilings and embossed tin tiles to cover it. This home is a whopping 3,300 with 3 bedrooms, two full bathrooms and two half bathrooms and a garage.

The next home receiving the award for the best Log Home between 3,001 and 4,000 Square Feet is the Custom Matin Residence built by True North Log Homes of Ontario, Canada. This impressive build has two front facades one from the street and the other from the lake. The street facing side looks just like a regular home, but then the view from the water shows just how incredible this home actually is with a pool right outside of it and tons of deck space. Just like on the outside, on the inside of the home they brought in some stunning features like the high ceilings in the living area and a tall fireplace that is handmade from stone that extends all the way up to the ceiling. This would be such a great home to entertain in or just live life to the fullest. It has plenty of space with 3,536 square feet and 3 bedrooms with 3 and a half bathrooms.

Last but certainly not least is the Log Home that won the category of Log Home of 4,000+ Square Feet which is the Custom Brewster built by Appalachian Log Structures of Ripley, West Virginia. This log home was also featured in the September 2018 issue of Log Home Living. The home was designed to fit into the mountainside on the property, and they did an excellent job of incorporating the home into the slope without creating too much of a slant in the home design itself. Having the home on a slant also lends to some incredible views of the surrounding land and created a walkout basement for more space to entertain. The home showcases rustic elegance beautifully and shows just how well a home can be built when the designers and builders take advantage of, yet respect the natural flow building site. This home is an incredible 4,400 square feet which includes the walk-out basement and has 4 bedrooms and 3 and a half bathrooms.

Now that you've seen all 7 homes that have made the list, which one is your absolute favorite? Would you go for something a bit more modest or would you go straight for the luxurious and lavish log house mansion?
