What was once the school bus for Courtney British Columbia has been gutted and meticulously restored into a unique space with a retro flare using many reclaimed and salvaged building components. There are lots of features packed into this short bus home to include a super comfy queen-size bed, room darkening curtains, a kitchenette, a propane fireplace heater, a stand-up shower, a penny countertop workspace, and a cute sitting area. There is an attached bathroom that is an outhouse complete with an envirolet composting toilet, sink with hot running water and even a chandelier that the owner found at the side of the road.

Be prepared for an old-school experience. There's no wifi inside the bus, but there is cell reception. You'll also find board games, cards, books and maps of local areas, art supplies, and good, old-fashioned postcards and letter writing supplies.

The bus has an outdoor space that includes a covered deck with seating, a propane BBQ, a hammock in the trees, and a private fire pit area with Adirondack chairs. The property has lovely gardens and tall trees which surround the whole area. The kitchenette includes a bar fridge, a small 2 burner propane stove, kettle, and toaster.

You'll be stocked up with black, green, and herbal teas, a pour-over coffee set up, sugar/honey, spices, oil, and vinegar. All of the necessary pots, pans, plates, cutlery, and cups are available. There is also an outdoor barbecue and the accessories to go along with it.

The fridge will be stocked with regular and non-dairy milk, along with ketchup and mustard. For breakfast, you will either get some of the owner's famous homemade nutty granola, a couple of farm-fresh eggs laid on the property, or some kind of baked goodie. If you have a strong preference or a serious allergy, you can let the owner know and they'll try their best to accommodate you.

Well behaved, small, hypoallergenic dogs will be considered, you'll need to enquire ahead. Please note that if you are much taller than 5 feet 10 inches you'll have to stoop. There is no Wi-Fi inside the bus but if you need to go online you can pick up a signal from the porch or the driveway. You'll also want to note that the outhouse might be on the fancy side, but it's still technically an outhouse so you'll want to consider if that works for you.
