This Is a Getaway Home That Brings You Closer to Nature
A rustic style log cabin is perfect for anyone who wants to get closer to nature. This beautiful log cabin in Troy, Montana was up for sale but just recently sold, although it shows just what you can find if you're in the market. An older out of date log cabin like this would be the perfect vacation home or cottage, or a great fixer upper for someone looking to renovate.

It would be really interesting to see what the new owners do with this cabin too. The nice thing about log cabins is that they'll last for years upon years if they're taken care of properly. That means regular maintenance is a necessity with log cabins, so it's a must for those thinking about buying one of these beautiful homes.

This log cabin features 3 bedrooms and 1 and a half bathrooms with 1,800 square feet of space. The home was estimated to cost around $281,614 to purchase and could potentially be rented out for $1,500 a month. So even if you bought a log cabin but didn't use it all year round, you could still offset the cost by renting it out while you're not there.

It could even bring in some extra income each month too. This charming 2 story log home has a lot of character, and it's also on 1.3 acres of land on the Yaak River making it even more attractive. From the outside, the lot home looks beautiful from afar with a couple of great decks on the front of the home facing the river. A long wooden bridge connects the home to the mainland and provides a lovely entrance into the property.

Plus, the river itself is great for fishing, and there are beautiful trees surrounding the entire property with wildlife coming through all the time. The original owners also put in a greenhouse on the property so it could even have the potential to be an off-grid and sustainable property where the owner could grow food and survive off the land. The home is a very simple design with full round logs done in the traditional scribed building method.

The home enters in from the front patio which would be a great place to sit out on a chair and enjoy views of the water outside. Inside the home, there is the living room with wood and log ceilings and a great big stone fireplace to keep a fire going in the winter. The living room has a mix of carpet and tile which could look great if it were changed to a hardwood floor or even a vinyl that looked like wood.

The kitchen looks like it was recently updated though and they did a nice job of keeping the original feel of the log home alive by using wooden cabinetry and wood floors. The modern touches include the stainless steel appliances which are all full-sized for all of the conveniences of a modern home. The door in the kitchen leads out to the back yard and deck where a BBQ or hot tub would be perfect.

Upstairs is the master bedroom with vaulted ceilings, a walk-in closet and private deck that also faces the river like the main floor one. The home also has a claw foot tub, an on-demand hot water tank, a private well, septic, and a hot tub included. There's also the fenced-in garden and chicken coop as well as a 24 foot by 50-foot shop. The log home was built back in 1985 making it over 30 years old, but it could be brought back to life and enjoyed for another 30 years.
