The Trout River Tiny Cabin Was Once A School House

The Trout River is a mid-19th-century log tiny house design that originally served as a school in Decorah, Iowa. The tiny house building was built sometime around the mid 19th century as a Norwegian-Lutheran parochial school. In 1898, the tiny cabin designs were taken apart, moved all the way across a field, and then rebuilt to be used as Norwegian immigrant Peter Losen's tiny home design.
