The Sugarhill Log Home Has a Sweet Design
Most log homes are truly things of beauty and stunning works of fine art. While log homes kits tend to be frowned upon by bespoke craftsmen, there is a place, and indeed a demand, for log cabin packages, from the logs only to the shell of a home to the full and complete package. And it's no wonder this log home kit, design by Coventry Log Homes, is called Sugarhill because it's a pretty sweet design for an even sweeter price.

While Coventry builds cabins with knotty pine and rustic charm, they also build a premiere series distinguished by exposed architectural post-and-beam style roof and loft systems and, no surprise, the Sugarhill log home is one of their premiere designs. The Sugarhill log home is a cozy, modified chalet style log home with an open-concept living area, complete with cathedral ceilings. The upstairs, of this three bedroom house, is a loft which boasts the master bedroom suite as well as a master bath and is not only private but also very open giving a feeling of even more space.

Everything about this home says luxury log home living but all for a low-budget price. While over the years the term chalet has changed and is often applied to vacation houses whether built in Alpine style or not, a chalet is a type of house or building native to the Alpine region in Europe and is characterized by a heavy, gently sloping roof with wide, well-supported eaves set at right angles to the front of a house.

Typically crafted from rough-hewn timber, a chalet's origins shine through in its raised stone foundation with steeply pitched gable roof, broad exterior galleries and even quaint, decorative woodwork with expansive windows that often frame the most breathtaking mountain views but, of course, the windows in your Sugarhill log home will frame whatever beautiful views you have chosen that happen to surround your property.
