The Ski Home Prow Is a Log Home Kit You Can Build Yourself
There is so much to love about log house living, whether you have always wanted to have a wood cabin in the woods, or you enjoy staying in a ski chalet at the mountain, it's easy to see the appeal. Of course, location is part of the draw of log cabin living, and mountain real estate is rarely cheap, and properties in ski towns such as Whistler, Aspen, or Jackson Hole can cost you a lot. That is why these days people are looking at other options to include prefab, tiny homes or shipping container on a plot of land.

But quite often these unconventional structures are too small or unsuitable for the colder climates, or those cozy evenings by the fire. Another great option to save you money on log cabin living is with a log cabin kit. Unlike prefab homes, log cabin kits aren't preassembled in an indoor factory somewhere; the log house is constructed at the owners building site.

In other ways, log cabin kits are very similar to prefab, especially with companies such as Golden Eagle Log and Timber Homes, having all of the logs and building materials precut at the company's facility and then shipped by truck to your location. When Golden Eagle Log and Timber homes deliver your log cabin building, they provide an installation manual for the log house homeowner or cabin builder who will be building the log home. And unlike conventional stick frame home designs that typically waste a lot of building materials and require more time to construct, log cabin building kits use much less building material since the exterior walls are solid wood.

A log house kit saves you from having to do all of the planning that cabin building usually entails, a log house kit has everything you need so you know what the cabin building will look like when it's done.

Log house kit prices are reasonable when compared to expensive mountain real estate. Of course, you will also need to factor in expenses such as land costs and cabin building costs which will increase the cost significantly, especially since the land can be the most expensive part of real estate. But for people who are looking for a semi-customizable log house that will hold up to the elements and fit the mountain aesthetic that is so popular, a log house is a great way to go.
