The name of the log building business comes from the first initials of the father and son's names - K for Kaspars and M for Maris. At first, they only had a small building factory that was about 500 m2 and has grown to be four times the size to keep up with the building they are doing. Over the years, the log builders have built over 150 of their lovely log homes and created a lot of happy customers. They definitely place a lot of value in being eco-friendly, so this includes conservation practices and only choosing materials from sustainable sources.

This allows the wood the grow strong and sturdy making it perfect for log building. It also allows for longevity in the log home as well because the materials will last longer the stronger and more resistant they are to the elements. They also offer Siberian larches or other conifer trees like cedar which is a very popular choice for log building.

For customers who are really interested in the log building process, they can go in and visit the factory where they build the log home. When the walls are all built, they are folded up and shipped to the building site. When the kit arrives they mount the timber panels to the foundation that the customer will have ready and then complete the exterior. If the customer wants the interior finished as well, they will also do this at that time.

The shell includes the exterior walls, windows and doors, as well as floors and roof. The more finished home includes interior walls to create the rooms within the homes and items like fireplaces and cabinets. Customers can also hire individual contractors to complete all of these items, or they can give it a try themselves too if they wish. The log builders are located in Latvia, so would be best suited for customers in that area, but they may also ship to other locations, so it's worth asking if they ship to your location if you like their style and designs.
