The reason why these shell structures are so inexpensive is that they are so easy to construct.

Off-grid means living off the grid which is the vastly interconnected framework of electrical cables, phone lines, water systems, natural gas, and so on, which hooks into most homes across in the western world. When you go off-grid, you disconnect from the power grid and start using other sources of energy to heat, light, and water your home. The other power sources people turn to when they go off-grid include solar power, wind power, and water power are three of the main ones being explored today, but natural energy sources don't stop there.
