The beach is quieter than one would expect for a setting so stunning. At the southern end, there's the mile-long tidal island of Worm's Head which rises from the waters like a square-headed mythical beast. You can walk to it to see the seabirds (and perhaps a grey seal!) for two hours on either side of the low tide without getting your feet wet but take care to be back before it returns.
