Farmhouse style is an interior design style that prioritizes practicality, simplicity, and rustic charm. While farmhouse design style tends to reflect the aesthetics of rural architectural design, it also embraces modern comforts, creating a look that feels both cozy and stylish. Some common elements of modern farmhouse design include reclaimed wood, barnboard details, big comfortable furniture, architectural salvage, pine furniture, wrought iron accents, wide plank floors, and vintage accessories.

Farmhouse design is so popular as it has a warm, approachable feel to it, which is soothing for most people. It is also quite versatile and works great with many other styles like the traditional or industrial decor. You can get the farmhouse look in your home by using neutral colors on the walls, mixing old and new elements, avoiding bright colors, using wire baskets, incorporating wood, using farmhouse light fixtures, and painting old furniture.
