The story of the Sisson Company starts in 1958 when Joe and JoAnn Sisson, bought a one-acre piece of land in the mountains of Georgia's Fannin County. By 1968, the couple were living with their family in Athens, Georgia where Joe was doing his graduate studies at the University of Georgia living in student housing; they felt the time had come when they would build the log cabin in the mountains that they had envisioned years earlier. It didn't take long for them, with the help of their family to begin building their rustic log cabin mountain getaway.
