Just one hour from the ranch, you'll find hoodoos and forest mixed. Bryce is a land of contrasts with towering green ponderosa pines against vibrant red and orange sandstone spires known as hoodoos. You are also likely to meet the most persuasive panhandlers you have ever encountered in the form of golden-mantled ground squirrels. Lake Powell.
The lake is just 1.5 hours from the ranch. With more shoreline than the entire United States' west coast, this aquatic wonderland begs to be explored. To enjoy this tall drink of water though, you will need a boat which you can rent or have chartered from the marina. Or get physical aboard a kayak or stand-up paddle board. Within minutes of being afloat, you will quickly recognize why this place was chosen as the backdrop for the original Planet of the Apes, it is out of this world. Grand Canyon, North Rim.
Grand Canyon is just 2 hours from the ranch. You've most likely seen photos of the Grand Canyon one of the most popular tourist attractions in North America. The photos don’t come close to capturing the real experience. This chasm of creation is a spectacle of unmatched proportion. Set against a bleak desert landscape the earth lays bear one of its biggest scars, thereby revealing that much more of her beauty. While the Grand Canyon is only two hours away, the ranch can pack you a lunch to enjoy when you get there.
