Skiers and snowboarders can hit the slopes at Hanson Hills in Grayling 20 miles away or Schuss Mountain at Shanty Creek in Bellaire 20 miles. The cabin has a main bedroom with a queen size bed, an upstairs bedroom with a bunk bed, and 2 twin size beds. The cabin has a full bathroom, no air conditioning with window fans available for use. You'll want to note that the house does not have a beachfront, the lake is sandy and shallow, great for swimming. The public beach is available at Lake Sands Park (a 5-minute drive).

Sands Park also has a playground, a small beach, a pavilion, and composting toilets. Boat rentals are available at the Fennco Powersports Rental in Kalkaska just 13 minutes away and offer pontoon rents and can pick up and deliver. There is fishing with Jumbo Bluegill, Jumbo Perch, Crappie, Pike, and Walleye. The firepit is available for use, you'll want to note that firewood is not supplied, and can be purchased at a local convenience just store 5 minutes away.
