If you enjoy roughing it, stay in this beautiful log home from the late 1800s. The cabin has been completely redone, maintaining all of the old characters. It is nestled on the edge of the forest, which provides miles of hiking trails. The wood cabin is also situated on a pond so you can spend your days swimming, canoeing, fishing, and exploring this nature lover's paradise. During your vacation stay, you can spend your time unplugging from your everyday life and reconnecting to the healing properties of a natural environment. The rustic cabin provides the perfect place for a relaxing stay surrounded by nature.

Off-Grid Living Experience

This wood cabin is truly off the grid. With no hydro, you will spend your evenings connecting around the wood fireplace with the light of lanterns and candles. The owners will provide a propane hot plate for preparing simple meals. There is a ladder leading to the sleeping loft with a child gate. There is no running water however there will be a supply of freshwater for drinking and cooking. There is a composting toilet located in the sleeping loft. There are hiking trails located on the 100-acre vacation property. In the winter you can enjoy your day cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The snowmobile trail is located at the end of the road for convenient access. There is a great hill for sledding and snowboarding. You can also enjoy the pond for skating and hockey tournaments.

Summer Activities and Wildlife

In the summer, you can relax by swimming and fishing in the pond. You can search for plenty of wildlife on your walks through the cabin property. Spend your evenings roasting marshmallows around the campfire. Before you call it a night, be sure to take some time to experience the beautiful, starry night sky. The Grotto, in Tobermory, is located 1.5 hours from the cabin property as well. In the immediate area of Owen Sound, there are several amazing waterfalls including Inglis Falls, Walters Falls, Jones Falls, and Indian Falls. The Bruce Trail is located within 10 minutes as well. There are some beautiful golf courses located in the area as well.

In the winter season, Blue Mountain is located just 45 minutes away from Ontario's best skiing and snowboarding. During your vacation stay, you can spend some time dining and shopping in the Village of Blue Mountain as well. The snowmobile trails are located right at the end of the road for all you adventure seekers. Harrison Park is known for its public skating rink and amazing tobogganing hill. There is no shortage of things to do in the beautiful Grey Bruce Area.
