Alfie the A-Frame Cottage a Beautiful Retreat in Sechelt, British Columbia

This A-Frame cabin with a slight curve to it is a great variation of the typical A-Frame cabin, and it also makes the perfect place for a short or long stay. People can rent the entire cabin and have it all to themselves for a little getaway in the forest. This cottage is located in Tuwanek which is right near the end of the road on the east side of the Sechelt Inlet. Beyond this village, there is not much else but a vast wilderness. So that makes this a very quiet place with little to no traffic at all. Close to the property is Tetrahedron Provincial Park, where you can find lots of walking trails and even cabins. But to get up there you need a pretty tough vehicle and chains on the tires if it's winter. There's also Hidden Grove which has more trails that are easily accessed and Porpoise Bay Provincial Park which has a sandy beach that's perfect for the summer. Plus there is Smugglers Cove, Dakota Ridge, Madeira Park or Garden Bay as well as the standing waves at Skookumchuck Narrows. So for a vacation out there, it's best to have a vehicle to get around. If you don't have a vehicle, there is also a lot of public transit as well.

The property itself is beautiful and covered with trees and greenery. The cottage is nestled in the trees covered in wood siding and cedar shake shingles to help it blend in. The two-story cottage features a deck on the main level as well as an upper level with a balcony. They gave the trim of all the windows and doors some bright blue paint to brighten things up a bit and add some personality. The organic curves of the cabin also make it look quite natural and as if it's always been there like it belongs in the forest surroundings. The views from this property are also amazing and perfect for morning coffee or tea looking out over the water. Leading up into the cottage is a small deck with a BBQ and seating for some nice grilled meals. Then, inside the front door is the living area with a cozy rug and comfortable couches to lounge on as well as a TV for entertainment. They kept the windows minimal, but the ones they added are placed very nicely around the living room to provide the perfect amount of light and great views.

Alfie the A-frame has one bedroom and one bathroom, so it's ideal for 2 guests or maybe a couple with a small child. Hosted by Gary And Jen, whoever stays at this cottage will be in good hands since they are Superhosts on Airbnb. That means they've been highly rated by their previous guests for providing a great stay. People mainly give this location a 5-star rating as well, and it's Airbnb's Most-Wishlisted property across Canada. The layout is very open with the kitchen attached to the living room and comes with a fridge, a built-in 4 burner electric range, a toaster oven and a microwave. So guests can make their own meals while staying here instead of always having to go out and find something to eat. The bathroom has a skylight and a claw foot bathtub which would make for the perfect evening of relaxation. The bedroom is upstairs with a very comfortable bed with all of the linens included. There's also a nice balcony off the bedroom with a telescope for looking at the stars. This would be such a beautiful place to stay and enjoy some serious rest and relaxation.
